Sharing:
Writing will be shared in each class, whether it is something you did for homework, something you wrote in response to the daily prompt, a piece you are developing, or anything else that you’ve brought in to share. This is a requirement for the class; if the thought of sharing your work concerns you, I encourage you to meet with me as soon as possible.
Rotation Schedule:
Students will be on a rotation schedule for larger pieces that they will share with the teacher, a peer, or the entire class. These will be hard deadlines, and failure to meet the deadline will result in a penalized grade.
Reading:
Writing is integrally connected to reading. We will be reading various short pieces to use as guides, inspiration, and simply to talk about what makes good writing good. You will also engage in ongoing independent reading (more guidelines to come).
